IN PARTNERSHIP WITH

Hello, Dedham.

Happy almost-June! If you haven’t already, it’s time to rotate your closet. And if the skies are clear, look up for the rare Blue Moon on May 30. Plus, Jupiter, Mars, and Saturn may be visible before dawn.

In this week’s drop:

  • a record fair, hello analog lovers.

  • a story slam, share yours or just listen.

  • plus live music, library fun, and a whole lot of puppies.

Let's get into it.

📰 Digest

❄️ DHS is staging Frozen this fall — and they want your kid in it. Dedham High School is producing Frozen: The Broadway Musical in November, and they're looking for DPS students in grades 2–8 to audition. Interest forms are due June 5! (details below)

🥇 A Dedham teacher just won a major honor. The Dedham Education Foundation named DHS theater and chorus director Lindsay Soson its 2026 Christine Stec Rock Star Educator Award recipient. Ms. Soson (the same director leading the upcoming Frozen production) was recognized for her creativity, her grant work expanding arts opportunities, and her gift for helping students find their strengths.

🚒 Dedham's fire department has a new leader waiting in the wings. The Fire Chief Swearing In Ceremony is Saturday, May 30 at 4:30PM on the Town Green. Come out and welcome the new chief.

🚧 The bridge is… probably closed. The MBTA's contractor is replacing the East Street Bridge and will close the road weekdays from 7AM–3:30PM through the end of June for curb and sidewalk work. Plan your route accordingly.

🗣️Weigh in on the Campus at 128 Development by June 11! The Planning Board has been tracking a large proposed project called "Campus at 128" by Petruzziello Properties along Route 135. The project is currently in state MEPA environmental review — not yet a local application — but the board wants residents informed early. A virtual state hearing is scheduled for June 3 and public comments are due June 11. To review the filing or submit comments, visit the MEPA eMonitor portal (Project ID #17061) or RSVP for the hearing at [email protected].
